Today I'm gonna talk about a topic which is not talked about much. Expressing yourself. Personally, I don't tell my feelings or the stuff I think to the people I'm really close to. The people who are extremely close to me don't know much stuff about me. And that's not a healthy thing. Recently I'm trying to open up, and I'll come to why I have started too.
Every day we all have different feelings thoughts and experiences. We tell some of them to the people we know, and we keep some to ourselves. Which is completely normal.
But when we barely share anything it's not healthy. We develop this habit of bottling up stuff and thinking a lot which slowly goes into overthinking. I used to have an unhealthy habit of overthinking, overthinking can bring a lot of insecurities, trust issues and at times a lot of unnecessary panics.
There are many ways in which we can let out our thoughts most of the time people prefer talking to close friends and family. But for some people like me, that just does not work.
So here are a few ways you can avoid bottling up emotions~
Diary entry - Writing down what you feel helps a lot, it helps you sort out your life, thoughts and emotions.
Video Diaries - Recording what you feel, helps you understand your feelings, thoughts and emotions better.
Song Writing- This is one I have recently started using and is helping me so much, songwriting really gives a unique vibe to what you feel, and your ability to express yourself better.
Poetry- Writing poems, help's you see what you feel from a different perspective. It also makes you dig deep into why you are feeling a certain way.
Just wanted you guys to know~
I am currently going through a really weird phase, everything feels really plain yet hard to deal with, and songwriting is really helping me express myself. Everyone has their own problems and depending on those problems they have different ways of expressing themselves.
Sometimes focusing on yourself is so not selfish it's a need.
and at the end of the day ask yourself
"am I happy?"
if no then your main focus should be on making yourself happy, I just want you to know I know it must be hard, and it is completely fine to be sad, just remember whatever you're feeling right now, you won't be feeling that in the future.
and if yes, that's great, it takes a lot of hard work and strength to stay happy in a world where there is so much negativity.
